First you must decide on a size, should you need just a small rug to accent your space or a large area rug to cover more space. In doing so decide just how much of your floor you wish to cover, if you wish to use masking tape as a guideline to choose the size, you may place the tape in the four corners of where you wish your rug to sit (you can adjust the size by moving the tape). Measuring from corner to corner will give you a better idea of what size to purchase.
